Yes, airport transfers are included in the price of your trip. Once you have provided us with your flight information, we will organize your airport transfer for you. The drive south to Playa Viva takes about 30 - 45 minutes.

What are the accommodations like?

Combining simple elegance with natural beauty and a commitment to improving the environment and the local community, Playa Viva is a sustainable boutique hotel located on the western coast of Mexico. This retreat center is off-grid, operating 100% on solar power, solar thermal water heating, grey, and black water management systems and built with local materials and craftsmanship. Situated on nearly 200-acres of private land, the property boasts an estuary, an Aztec archeological site, a turtle sanctuary, and a coastal forest and mangrove ecosystem that supports an array of stunning wildlife. Playa Viva is close enough to the trappings of modernity yet worlds away providing an immersion into the wonders of nature and escape to utter private relaxation. Nestled between the sparkling waters of the Pacific Ocean and the majestic Sierra Madre Mountains near the village of Juluchuca, Playa Viva is situated on a mile of pristine and private beach. All of Playa Viva's rooms have unobstructed ocean views and private bathrooms. Depending on if you are traveling alone or plan to share your room there are options for single or shared accommodations. Rooms are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis.

What if I am traveling alone?

If you prefer to share your room, we will do our best to match you with another traveler of the same gender. If we are not able to find you a roommate, a single supplement will apply.

If you prefer to have your own room, a single supplement will apply.

What is the cuisine like?

Playa Viva food is best described as "healthy Mexican," with a focus on traditional Mexican meals cooked with minimal oil and healthy and local ingredients, incorporating as many organics as possible and growing as much food onsite as possible on the 3-acre farm. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated. Please be sure to note these in your registration document.

Does Playa Viva have Air Conditioning in the Rooms?

No, none of the casitas have artificial air conditioning. The only air conditioning available is from the natural breeze flowing in from the ocean. The casitas are engineered to maximize the flow of air, minimize the heat effect from the sun, and make the environment as pleasant as possible.

What is the cancellation policy?

All retreats include a $500 non-refundable / non-transferable deposit, which is required to hold your spot on the trip. If you cancel prior to December 4, 2019 we will refund your payment minus the non-refundable deposit. All payments are non-refundable & non-transferable after December 4, 2019. International Yoga must strictly adhere to its cancellation policy to offset costs incurred prior to the commencement of retreat. Click here to view the Terms and Conditions to which you agree upon registration.

Do I need travel insurance?

All payments to International Yoga are non-refundable & non-transferable. The purchase of travel insurance is strongly recommended to ensure you are covered should any unexpected event arise. A personal, political, environmental or weather-related incident or pre-existing medical condition may prevent or interrupt your travels.  These events are rare but do occur and underscore the importance of being covered by travel insurance.  Should you elect to not purchase travel insurance, you will be assuming 100% of any costs incurred for trip cancellation or trip interruption. TravelEx and World Nomads are two reputable organizations. There is a broad spectrum of policies and options so make sure you are clear on what exactly is covered.
