The Yoga Sutras & Amritanandamayi
You will book your international ticket into and out of Fiumicino international airport in Rome (airport code: FCO).
Our luxury, boutique hotel accommodation is immersed in nature. The Locanda del Gallo has 10 rooms all with a private bathroom, each equally fresh and silent, each different from one another. The furnishings adorning every room were all hand-picked and brought back one by one from many distant journeys made by Paola and Irish, the owners of the Locanda del Gallo. There is no television, nothing to disturb the peace and tranquillity. Enjoy green hills, gardens, silence, extreme relaxation in this wellness center with saltwater swimming pool, jacuzzi spa and massage facilities. The private chef will spoil you with healthy and organic cuisine. Gubbio, Perugia, Assisi, and Cortona are all within easy reach of the Locanda del Gallo and even Siena, Florence and Rome are not too far.
U.S. citizens may enter Italy for up to 90 days for tourist or business purposes without a visa. Your passport must be valid at least 6 months from your date of arrival.
Yes, airport transfers are provided from Rome on the first and last day of the retreat. We recommend arriving in the morning of trip start and departing in the late afternoon of trip conclusion.
We love solo-travelers and we have hundreds join us every year on retreat! If you prefer to share your room and are traveling alone, we will do our best to match you with another traveler of the same gender. If we are not able to find you a roommate, a 50% of the single supplement cost will be applied to your final invoice.
Gratuities are not included in the price of your trip. Gratuities are shared by staff, housekeeping or other employees helping you throughout the week then an additional tip is always appreciated. We suggest a budget of around $10/day per guest.
Attendance varies from trip to trip, but 12 - 20 attendees is a general average.
A private chef will be on staff for our group all week to prepare meals. Organic tomatoes, salad leaves and vegetables are harvested from the kitchens very own garden. Dishes will include authentic Italian and Mediterranean influences including olive oil from the olive grove, aromatic herbs from the garden, yogurt, cakes and homemade breads.
At breakfast they offer a variety such as muesli, corn flakes, various seeds, prunes, homemade yoghurt, sliced meats on request, cheese, hard-boiled eggs, jams/preserves, home baked bread, fruit juices, coffee, tea, milk.
At lunchtime there will be grains, vegetable proteins, a choice of vegetables, fruit, homemade pizzas/focaccias and more.
At dinner time there will be a first course (pasta or soups), main course (vegetarian or meat based) with side dish, raw vegetables + dips and a dessert.
