Born in Tafilalet oasis, a Kasbah in southern Morocco, El Mehdi Mehdioui was born into a family of craftsmen. After completing his education in mathematics & physics at Rabat University, he became a licensed insider through the Moroccan tourism and craft ministry and has been helping travelers discover the beauty of Marrakech ever since. He has been a guide for many interesting guests including well-known designers, politicians, and artists from all over the globe. Amal Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to the empowerment of underserved women through restaurant training and job placement. Amal's ultimate goal is personal transformation through the development of job and life skills for their trainees to eventually achieve economic and social stability. Amal helps their graduates find jobs in restaurants, hotels, riads, or private homes that will allow them to become financially independent. Amal is a self-sustained social entity that strives to make positive changes in women's lives in Morocco.

What is the cancellation and refund policy for this trip?
When should I place my deposit for this trip?
Given the complexity and extremely limited number of spaces at our handpicked luxury accommodations, we strongly suggest placing your deposits as soon as possible.
What airport do I fly into?
You will book your international ticket into and out of Marrakesh (airport code: RAK).
Are there group airfares?
There are no group airfares, as we will have people joining us from all over the US, with some arriving early, some arriving late, some using miles, etc. We are happy to provide guidance and review any itineraries you find. Please contact us before purchasing flights, and as always, travel insurance is strongly recommended.
Do I need a Visa for travel to Morocco?
American citizen visitors to Morocco do not need a visa if they are traveling as a tourist with a valid U.S. passport. You will be issued a visa upon arrival, which is valid for up to 90 days.
What if I'm traveling alone?
We get hundreds of travelers each year who go on retreat alone. If you are traveling without a friend or partner, but prefer to share your room, we will do our best to match you with another traveler of the same gender. If for some reason, we are not able to match you with a roommate, a single supplement will apply.

Do I need to bring a yoga mat? Will props be available during yoga classes?
Yes, please bring your own mat in addition to blocks and a strap if you use props during your practice.
Are airport transfers included in the price of my trip?
Yes, private airport transfers are included in the price of your trip. Note if you arrive early and decide to stay at an alternate location other than our group hotel, you will be responsible for coordinating and paying for your own transportation directly with the hotel where you will be staying.
How many people are expected on this trip?
Attendance varies from trip to trip, but 12-18 attendees is a general average for Morocco. Space is limited for this particular trip.
What are the accommodations like?
We will be staying at gorgeous luxury hotels chosen for their gorgeous design, location and quality of service. We've used them all for groups in the past to rave reviews. Please contact us at [email protected] for details!
Are all levels of yoga welcome, from beginning to more advanced?
Yes, all levels are welcome. You will find that wherever you are in your practice you will get just what you need out of the yoga classes on this retreat. International Yoga works only with experienced and extremely qualified teachers, which ensures that everyone’s yoga needs will be met.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes. As all payments to International Yoga are non-refundable, the purchase of travel insurance is strongly recommended to ensure you are covered should any unexpected event arise. A personal, political, environmental, health or weather-related incident or pre-existing medical condition may prevent or interrupt your travels. Should you elect to not purchase travel insurance, note that you will be assuming 100% of any costs incurred for trip cancellation or trip interruption.
There are a broad variety of policies and providers for you to choose from. Be sure to understand the fine print of the policy you select to ensure you know exactly what is and isn’t covered — especially if you are concerned you may need to cancel for COVID-19 / pandemic-related reasons which most carriers would cover only under a "Cancel for Any Reason" tier of coverage. IMPORTANT: in order to guarantee maximum coverage, most travel insurance providers require that you obtain a policy within 5-10 days of placing your initial deposit. Although International Yoga cannot advise on specific policies or providers, you may find this guide helpful.
