At the end of April, the weather in Iceland is quite variable as the country transitions into spring. Average temperatures range from 0°C (32°F) to 7°C (45°F), with milder conditions in southern and western coastal areas, including Reykjavik. Daylight increases significantly, offering around 17 hours of light by the end of the month. This extended daylight allows for more outdoor activities, despite the often chilly and unpredictable weather. It's advisable to dress in layers, including a good rain-resistant jacket, warm hat, and gloves.
April is a great time to visit Iceland for various activities such as exploring Reykjavik, driving the Golden Circle, and visiting natural attractions like waterfalls, glaciers, and hot springs. It's also the start of the whale-watching season and puffin season, making it a unique time for wildlife enthusiasts.
