Meet Roger Lonergan, your expert guide to the wonders of Ireland. With over a decade of experience welcoming cruise ship guests and leading unforgettable tours, particularly in Cork, Roger—or “Rodge,” as he warmly invites you to call him—is the perfect companion for your Irish adventure.
A fully qualified Irish National Tour Guide and proud member of the Approved Tour Guides of Ireland (ATGI), Rodge is registered with the Irish Tourism Board and brings a wealth of knowledge and charm to every excursion. Hailing from Tipperary Town, where he lives with his wife—a dedicated nurse—and their two grown children, Rodge has deep roots in Ireland’s culture and history.
Not only will Rodge ensure you feel cared for throughout your journey, but his storytelling and humor will keep you entertained every step of the way. And if you’re lucky (or persuasive), he might even treat you to a recitation of a favorite Irish poem. Prepare for a truly memorable experience with Rodge leading the way!

We love to welcome solo travelers on our retreats! Most solo travelers prefer to book a single room, however, if you prefer to share a room, we will do our best to match you with another traveler of the same gender. If we are unable to find you a roommate, however, a single supplement will apply based on the difference in room costs. You will be notified 2 to 3 weeks before the start of the retreat if we haven't been able to match you with a roommate and we will send you an updated invoice at that time.
Gratuities are not included in the price of your trip. Tipping in Ireland is appreciated but not always expected. In restaurants, it is customary to leave a tip of about 10-15% if the service is good, although some establishments may include a service charge on the bill, in which case an additional tip is not necessary. For other services, such as taxi drivers or hotel staff, rounding up the fare or leaving a small tip is considered polite but not obligatory. We suggest a budget of around $10/day per guest.
International Yoga strongly recommends the purchase of travel insurance. A personal, political, environmental, health, or weather-related incident may arise that can prevent or interrupt your travels. If you do not purchase travel insurance you will be assuming 100% of any costs associated with the cancellation/ interruption of your retreat. While we cannot advise on specific travel insurance policies, we recommend looking at plans through the reputable travel insurance provider, Travelex. The FAQ section at the bottom of their website is quite helpful, and they have a number you can call as well. Note that to guarantee maximum coverage, most travel insurance providers require that you obtain a policy within 10 - 15 days of placing your initial deposit.
